Unfortunately, the Midlakes Youth Football Camp previously scheduled for July 11-16 has been canceled due to lack of participation.  The Jr. Eagles are planning a camp for 2012 and hope to provide more coaches from the NFL, College and Youth ranks.  Thank you to all who registered.  Full refunds will be issued to app registered participants.

Former Jr. Eagles among those recognized

June 7, 2011

Former Jr. Eagles football players Dillon Hudson and Tyler Jansen were recognized for their sportsmanship, football, community and academic achievements at the National Football Foundation & College Football Hall of Fame Awards banquet June 6, 2011.  Both players began their football careers as C Team players with the Jr. Eagles and went on to have very successful high school careers both on and off  the football field.  Dillon played high school football for both Midlakes and DeSales where he was a stand out running back and linebacker.   Tyler played for Midlakes as a wide receiver, defensive back and kick returner and was named All League twice and team Captain.  Both players also excelled academically maintaining honor roll or high honor roll throughout their high school years.  Their paths will continue together as both will be attending Alfred University to study athletic training and play football in the fall.  Congratulations to both players on their accomplishments.

To all new coaches as per FLFCL rules each coach will have NYCSA certification. There will be an opportunity for coaches to attend a NYSCA certification class at a later date or coaches can log on to the NYSCA web site at any time to complete the certification. Log on to www.nays.org and then click on renew certification if you have one that will expire before the season or if you have never had a certification click on the online clinic tab to begin your certification class.  Also as a head coach, assistant coach, or parent helper; a back ground check needs to be completed before 8/1/2011. B Team Football Registrations Closed

April 12, 2011

Due to an unprecedented turnout for B Team we have reached our maximum number of players on that squad so we can no longer accept registrations for B Team Football.  We are still accepting registrations for other squads including B Team Cheer.  So if you are a potential B Team player parent what do you do?

If your child is at least 10 they may be able to play as an older lighter on C Team.  In certain circumstances they may also be able to play on A.

If your child is 11 or older they are eligible to play on A Team.  While A Team allows larger children to play the average weight of an A Team player in FLYFCL over the last 5 years has been less than the maximum weight allowed on B.  In addition because A team is traditionally a smaller squad your child is likely to have more individual coaching time and more playing time because the team won’t be constrained by minimum number of plays.

Anyone who is considering A Team as an option should speak with me, Jason Jansen, Football Director, Joe Cooper Asst. Football Director or Matt Cooper, Athletic Director.  Our contact information can be found on the Jr. Eagles Website.
